Published by ORSAM on 9 February 2010, the study draws on field visits conducted between 10 and 20 June. The researcher visited Turkmen settlements and communities in several cities and interviewed local officials and residents.
The report is an important starting point for settlement geography, identity, language, education and socioeconomic conditions. Its findings reflect the period of fieldwork and are not a current census.
